ARCS Water Sleuths Programs (grades K through 2)
Red Fish, Blue Fish Workshop–children will learn about fish, their habitats, and aquatic food webs. Students will learn the many ways different fish eat and how all creatures keep the ecosystems in balance. Similar to the Aqua Kids workshop but more advanced.

Shark Pups Workshop–children will look into a shark’s jaw and learn about their teeth, feeding habits, why sharks are a top predator, and how they balance the world’s ecosystem through stories and a hunt for shark’s teeth. Similar to the Aqua Kids workshop but more advanced.

Fish Prints Workshop- children will channel their artistic skills by learning about fish while creating fish prints. Similar to the Aqua Kids workshop but more advanced.

Lake Explorers Workshop (field work)- children will learn about creatures that inhabit rivers and lakes during a fisheries research expedition. Using a seine net children will collect and identify fish during this experience-based learning program. We will search shallow waters to collect, observe and discuss the natural history of the many fish and animals that inhabit the area.

Nosey Fish Workshop- children will learn about sawfish, gar, paddlefish and sturgeon through hands-on activities, crafts, and stories. Similar to the Aqua Kids workshop but more advanced.
